Happy Friday! It’s been an exciting, but long, week around here! It SNOWED! It wasn’t the fun kind of snow like we had back in December, though. It was the kind that was barely enough to play in, but enough to ice the roads over and shut down pretty much the whole state. We’re in Alabama–we’re not exactly what you would call “equipped” to handle ice on the roads. It really only happens about once every several years. (The last time it happened I was a teacher, the weathermen didn’t realize the roads were going to ice over as quickly as they did, schools didn’t release students in time, busses couldn’t run, students were stuck at school, and I ended up spending the night on the school library floor at four months pregnant. I literally kept an air mattress in the back of my car until the Spring.)
I’m not gonna lie though, every time I hear it might snow I get a little excited. I watched the news all day Tuesday to see when the snow was going to get to us. It’s just such a rarity around here, and I know how excited it makes the girls. It’s much better when we’re all safe at home waiting for it too, instead of stuck at work or out somewhere.
We didn’t get too much snow, but it was enough to get the girls excited and wanting to play, so we took them out Wednesday morning for MAYBE 20 minutes before we were all ready to come inside. It was COLD, y’all! We’re not used to this! (And just to illustrate how crazy this Alabama weather is, on Sunday we’re supposed to get up to 65)
(Like I said, we live in Alabama. We MIGHT get snow once a year. So we clearly don’t have proper snow attire!)
SG kept picking up snow and saying, “Throw you, Mommy!” and “Throw you, Daddy!” It was adorable.
Emily always wants to try to eat the snow!
She’s getting pretty good at snow angels!
Apparently swinging is even more fun in the snow! This girl LOVES to swing.
SG wasn’t quite as ready to come in as the rest of us were!
Even though I’ve had a little bit of cabin fever this week, I’m so thankful we got to make these memories with the girls. Have a great weekend!
